See the end of this post for this competition’s entry details and you could win four free tickets to the show’s performance at Umbilo’s Rhumbelow Theatre in Cunningham Road, at 7.30pm on Saturday, October 31. The fun cabaret will also have performances at 3pm on that Saturday, and a final performance at 2pm on Sunday, November 1.
How to Cook Your Husband runs for an hour and is presented without an interval. A recent Hilton Arts Festival success, it is comedy with a mix of murder, mayhem and music, and follows a character named Marjiet, who discovers her husband’s infidelity and decides to concoct an outrageous recipe for revenge.
Delving into themes of marriage, infidelity, consequences and solutions, the show features such songs as The Cellblock Tango, Crazy, I Will Survive, Something Stupid and a play on Stephen Sondheim’s Worst Pies in London, now changed to Worst Pies in Bloemfontein.
Rhumbelow Theatre patrons are encouraged to take along a picnic basket of snacks or light meals (or buy a light meal at the venue) as seating is at tables of eight. Note, however, that all drinks must be bought at the theatre pub.
