CONRAD Koen, the widely renowned comedian and ventriloquist who creates endless fun with a massive assortment of puppets, is presenting his latest stage show in Durban this and next weekend – and this site has four tickets to give away to the 7.30pm performance this Saturday, July 25, at the Rhumbelow Theatre in Umbilo.

Conrad’s main puppet sidekick is, of course, the comical Chester Missing, a fictional political commentator who confronts racism and white privilege in post-apartheid South Africa.
The new show is titled Chester’s Got Talent, which has a 7.30pm Saturday, July 25, performance and a 2pm Sunday, July 26, performance at the Umbilo Rhumbelow Theatre. It then has performances on the Rhumbelow stage at Northlands Bowling Club at 7.30pm next Friday and Saturday, July 31 and August 1, and 2pm on Sunday, August 2.
The new production promises many laughs and surprises. Imagine a talent show, just for puppets. The stakes are high as Koch wants his puppets to compete to be the very best. But that pariah, Chester Missing, never does what he is told. Chester, of course, spits the honest and unfiltered truth.
The show features such delightful characters as Gunter the German mosquito, Hilton the dramatic ostrich, DJ Hoodie the puppet who actually DJs, Mr Dixon the high school teacher… and a surprise guest star. The best part is that the audience gets to judge as each puppet makes Conrad’s problems worse.

Seating at both venues is at tables and patrons are encouraged to take along a picnic basket but must make use of the pubs at the venues, as no beverages maty be brought in.
