DURBAN’S KickstArt theatre company is presenting its swashbuckling festive season pantomime, Sinbad the Sailor, soon – and good news is that SoSuterBill has four tickets to give away to the performance at Durban’s Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre at 11am on Tuesday, December 9.

Sinbad the Sailor is a riotous romp over the Seven Seas, in the company of the famous sailor and his madcap crew and family. Directed and written by Steven Stead and designed by Greg King, it runs at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre from December 4 until January 11 next year.

With gloriously colourful sets and costumes that evoke the exotic mystery and magic of the Arabian Nights, and exciting music and dance, often inspired by Bollywood, this is a unique pantomime experience for the entire family.

Featuring choreography by Evashnee Pillay, the show stars Rory Booth as Sinbad, Bryan Hiles as his mother Dame Donna Kebab, Lyle Buxton as his nemesis Long John Slither, Belinda Henwood as the scheming sorceress Morgiana the Magnificent, and Roshanda Lewis as Sinbad’s love interest, Marina. The show also stars Marion Loudon, Blessing Xaba and Mthokozisi Zulu, among other local favourites.

Performances of Sinbad the Sailor are at 2.30pm Tuesdays to Sundays, and 11am and 3.30pm on Saturdays. The running time is two hours and 25 minutes (including a 20-minute interval). Note: No under-threes permitted. Booking is via Webtickets.
