Every now and then I will dip into scrapbooks that have piled up during my 24 years as Arts Editor of The Mercury newspaper in Durban and, just for fun, dig out reviews and interviews from yesteryear. Today we go back to 2000 and 2001.
The first post is my interview with radio’s Dave Guselli in October 2000, when he was still on East Coast Radio, on air from 6pm to 9pm. He is pictured with his singer wife, Cindy, and their son – a then very young Danny Guselli, who is now a dancer who has followed in dad’s footsteps to be on air on East Coast Radio.
The other interview is with Durban singer-guitarist Colin Peddie – recently seen in Durban as a guest of hit band The Reals, in their show saluting Fleetwood Mac.
The interview, from April 2001, was at a time when Colin was with the Durban band Halcyon and was appearing in a Themi Venturas show, Samba, at the now-no-more Langoustine Theatre By the Sea in Durban North..
Hope you enjoy these blasts from the past!
