Great musician Miles Davis died on this day in 1991, while American rapper, producer and chef Coolio also died on this day, in 2022, at the age of 59. His biggest hit was Gangsta’s Paradise.

It was on this day in 1997 that actor Chad Lowe, then 29, wed Oscar-winner Hilary Swank, then aged 23. Also, on this day in 1936, Harpo Marx of The Marx Brothers comedy team, then aged 47, married actress Susan Fleming, aged 28.

On this day in 1999, Paul Stanley, lead singer with rock band Kiss, filled the title role in a Canadian production of the hit musical Phantom of the Opera, staged at Toronto’s Pantages Theatre.
