Also having a birthday today is South African comedian Mel Miller. He turns 710 today, while singer Alan Garrity (remember the ’70s hit, I Need Someone?) also celebrates his birthday today.
Bing Crosby, born in 1903, died on this day in 1977, while former 007, Roger Moore, who passed away this year, was born on this day in 1927. Scottish actor-comedian Robbie Coltrane – Hagrid in the Harry Potter films and also noted for the Cracker TV series – died on this day in 2022, aged 72.
Of note to fans of The Beatles is that the band’s famous White Album was completed on this day in 1968.
At the top of the UK singles chart on this day in 1972 was Maggie May by Rod Stewart. It spent five weeks at No 1. Just saying…
