Michael Hutchence, former lead singer with Aussie rock band INXS, died on this day in 1997, aged 37. Sexy screen legend Mae West also died on this day, in 1980.

It was on this day in 1967 that the BBC unofficially banned The Beatles song, I Am a Walrus.Wikipedia elaborates by stating that this was due to the use of the word “knickers”  in the line “You’ve been a naughty girl, you’ve let your knickers down”.

In 2003, on this day, actress Carmen Elektra married rocker Dave Navarro in Los Angeles.
