Actor Kurt Russell (pictured) turns 72 today, while Irish singer Hozier (of Take Me to Church fame) turns 33, actor Rob Lowe turns 59 and Gary Sinise turns 68.
Others celebrating birthdays today include reality TV star Rob Kardashian (36) and Pattie Boyd – author, ex-model and former wife of George Harrison – who turns 79.
Also of note to fans of TV’s Dallas is that Patrick Duffy, who played Bobby Ewing, turns 74 today.
On the theatre scene, this day in 2005 was a good one on Broadway. It marked the start of previews for two hit shows – the acclaimed musical Spamalot – starring Tim Curry, David Hyde-Pierce and Hank Azaria – and The Light in the Piazza. Both shows dominated the 2005 Tony Awards.
