Jerry Stiller, the father of screen star Ben Stiller – and who appeared with John Travolta in the film Hairspray – turns 90 today.

Actress Julianna Margulies turns 51 and actress Sonia Braga turns 67. Joan Rivers, who died at the age of 81 in 2014, was born on this day in 1933.

Bing Crosby recorded Silent Night on this day in 1942, while the Rolling Stones released Jumping Jack Flash on this day in 1968.

Playbill reports that it was on this day in 2015 that Bombshell, the fictional musical from the television series Smash, was presented in a one-night-only concert to benefit The Actors’ Fund. The event reunited cast members from the series, including Debra Messing, Katharine McPhee and Will Chase.
