ON THIS DAY IN 2020:

Sean Hayes (pictured), camp star of TV’s Will & Grace, turns 50 today and actor Jason Schwartzman, son of Rocky actress Talia Shire, turns 40.

Singer Ariana Grande turns 27 today while Blue Hotel singer and actor Chris Isaak turns 65, and actor Chris O’Donnell turns 50. Mick Jones, former guitarist with The Clash, turns 65 today.

This day in 1896 marked the opening of the first cinema in the United States – Vitascope Hall in New Orleans, which reportedly charged 10c a ticket. Also on this day, in 1979, the 11th 007 movie, Moonraker, premiered in London. It starred Roger Moore as James Bond.

Today is also of note in that on this day in 1974, Oscar-winner Elizabeth Taylor divorced Richard Burton for the fifth time.

The Gabrielle hit, Dreams, rose to the top of the UK singles chart on this day in 1993 The soul-voiced Londoner spent three weeks crowning the chart. Just saying…
