Actor Martin Landau , would died in 2017, would have celebrated his 90th birthday today, while Sweet Magnolias star Olympia Dukakis turns 87 and Sweet Home Alabama actor Josh Lucas turns 47. Director Stephen Frears turns 77 today.

On this day in 1974, the hit film Chinatown, with Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway, was released, while on this day in 1975 the Steven Spielberg classic, Jaws, first reached cinemas.
