Singer Lil’ Kim turns 48 today and Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora turns 63, while Justin Chambers, of TV’s Grey’s Anatomy, turns 52. Designer Giorgio Armani turns 88 today.

On this day in 1989, Oscar-winner Laurence Olivier died, aged 82, while Tommy Ramone, original drummer with the band The Ramones, died on this day in 2014, aged 62.

America’s famous Hollywood Bowl concert venue opened on this day in 1922, while on this day in 1976, a then-60-year-old Frank Sinatra married his fourth wife, Barbara Marx, who was 15 years his junior.

This day in 1969 was significant for both David Bowie and The Rolling  Stones. Bowie released Space Oddity on this day (nine days before the Apollo 11 moon landing), while Mick Jagger and his team released Honky Tonk Woman in the US.
