Today also marks the birthday of Betty Grable, who made 42 films in the 1930s and 1940s, and was 56 when she died in 1973. Long a sex symbol, Grable’s famous swim suit poster was later included in the Life magazine project, “100 Photographs that Changed the World, reports Wikipedia.

On this day in 1968, Peter Sellers and Britt Ekland ended their marriage after four years.
