Singer Tony Bennett (pictured) turns 92 today while singer-guitarist and Metallica frontman James Hetfield turns 55, and French actor Lambert Wilson turns 60.

Actor Martin Sheen blows out 78 cake candles today, while actor Isaiah Washington, of television’s ER, turns 44. Director John Landis, who gave us the very popular film, The Blues Brothers, turns  68.

The hit western, The Unforgiven, directed by and starring Clint Eastwood,  and also featuring Morgan Freeman, premiered on this day in 1992.

This day in 2013 marked the marriage of actor and model Kevin Zegers, then 28, and talent agent Jaime Feld.

Topping the South African singles chart this week in 1980 was Paradise Road by local all-woman group Joy. It spent nine consecutive weeks at No 1. Just saying…
