Country singer Kenny Rogers (pictured) was born on this day in 1938. He died, aged  81, on March 20, 2020. Meanwhile, Sex and the City star Kim Cattrall turns 66 today, The Matrix actress Carrie Ann Moss turns 52 and Heroes actress Hayden Panettiere turns 33.

It was on this day in 1983 that the musical La Cage Aux Folles opened at Broadway’s Palace Theatre, with George Hearn and Gene Barry as leads.

This day in 2010 marked the wedding of Oscar-winner Anna Paquin and actor-director Stephen Moyer at a private estate in Malibu; and on this day in 1982 singer Bono, of Irish band U2, then aged 22, married activist and busineswoman Ali Hewon, then 21.

The Survivor hit, Eye of the Tiger, theme from the film Rocky III, topped the South African singles chart on this day in 1982, staying there for seven weeks. Just saying…
