The star of Lion and Slumdog MillionaireDev Patel, turns 33 today, while TV actor George Lopez turns 62, actress Valerie Bertinelli turns 64 and Aussie actress Judy Davis turns 68. US doccie film-maker Michael Moore turns 69.

On this day in 2015, Broadway great Chita Rivera returned to the Great White Way in her first original role in more than two decades – as the star of The Visit, by John Kander, Fred Ebb and Terrence McNally. The musical is based on a 1956 play by Friedrich Durrenmatt, about a millionairess who returns to the town where she grew up to wreak revenge on the man who did her wrong back in her youth.

On this day in 1983, Up Where We Belong by Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes – from the film An Officer and a Gentleman  – rose to the top of the South African Springbok Radio, where it remained for six weeks. Just saying…
