Actor Dennis Quaid (pictured) turns 69 today, Twilight actress Kristen Stewart turns 33, Sex and the City actress Cynthia Nixon turns 58 and singer Jesse McCartney turns 37. Actor Jean-Paul Belmondo was born on this day in 1933. He died, aged 88, on 4 September 2021.

On this day in 1953, Warner Brothers premiered the first 3D movie, House of Wax, while on this day in 1962, the musical West Side Story took the Oscar for best picture. And on this day in 1979, at the 51st Oscars ceremony, The Deer Hunter took the Best Picture statuette.

In this day in 1984, the Best Picture Oscar went to Terms of Endearment, starring Jack Nicholson and Shirley MacLaine.
