MONSTER Jam, the action-packed motorsports experience for families, returns to South Africa soon for a single performance in each of three cities – at Cape Town’s DHL Stadium on Saturday, April 22; Johannesburg’s FNB Stadium on Saturday, April 29; and Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, May 6.
There will be one exciting event only, starting at 6pm, in each city – and great news is that SoSuterBill.com has a prize of four family tickets to offer for the Durban date. It’s a terrific prize valued at R 1 280.
The prize is one set of four combined Pit Party and Event family tickets for the Moses Mabhida Stadium performance of this exhilarating show! See competition entry details at the end of this post.
Monster Jam also features breathtaking Freestyle Motocross (FMX) exhibitions and adds up to revved-up fun for the entire family. Produced by American-based Feld Entertainment, it is brought to us by McDonald’s South Africa, together with leading local promoter, Showtime Management, in association with SuperSport.
The event features world-class athletes locked in intense competitions of speed and skill. Tickets are on sale at www.showtime.co.za or www.ticketmaster.co.za
Monster Jam kicks off with the world-famous Monster Jam Pit Party where fans can see the massive trucks up close, meet their favourite drivers and crews, get autographs, take “selfies” with the drivers and trucks, and enjoy other family-friendly fun.
This unique experience is the only place that allows people to get up-close access to the Monster Jam teams and get an insider’s look at how these trucks are built to stand up to the competition.
Before the event, the Pit Party allows fans to get amongst the Monster Jam action. Tickets for the Pit Party cost R150 each. Quantities are limited and available only with an event ticket priced at R150, R250, R350, R450 and R600.
Discounted event-only family packages are also available. Optional Pit Party tickets at a cost of R150 per ticket may be purchased in addition to family packages. The Pit Party is from 1pm to 3.30pm with final entry at 3pm. The Monster Jam drivers depart from the Pit Party at 3.30pm.
“For decades, Monster Jam has been one of the biggest and most successful touring family events in the United States. Monster Jam’s three-city debut SA tour in 2019 broke International records with three sold-out stadia and culminating in a new international record with 63 000 tickets sold in Johannesburg,” says Tony Feldman of Showtime Management.
The line-up of eight monster trucks is set to feature multiple fan favourites such as the legendary Grave Digger, 12-time Monster Jam World Finals Champion Max-D, mighty Megalodon, El Toro Loco, Monster Mutt Dalmatian and, for the first time, Earth Shaker.
“Being known for all things ‘family’, we are proud to be a partner of this world-renowned event. We believe in the power of sport and entertainment to bring family and friends together and what better way to do this than at Monster Jam 2023,” says McDonald’s South Africa (SA) Supply Chain, Marketing and Technology Executive, Daniel Padiachy.
Monster Jam drivers are highly trained, world-class male and female athletes who have mastered not only the physical strength and mental stamina needed to compete, but the vital dexterity to control huge machines capable of doing backflips, vertical two-wheel skills and racing at speeds up to 110kph to produce jaw-dropping, live motorsports action seen around the world.
Standing 4m tall and 4m wide, the custom-designed Monster Jam trucks are powered by super-charged engines delivering more than 1 500 horsepower. With tyres 1.7m tall, a Monster Jam truck can jump as far as 43m in length.
