Shows on Netflix in August

A COOKING show from Paris Hilton and a reality show centred on a football team are among new streaming highlights being scheduled for August on Netflix, along with a new documentary about alien encounters.

Paris Hilton, all bllnged up and high-glam, hosts Cooking with Paris, streaming from August 4. This is a six-part Netflix series with an anyone-can-cook attitude, featuring guests such as Kim Kardashian West, Demi Lovato and Nikki Glaser, among others.

Hilton is said to add her own flair to every dish. Fun is just one edible glitter bomb away on this unique cooking show, says the advertising blurb. Check out the trailer here: https://youtu.be/UGM3eyAnRbc

Top Secret UFO Projects: Declassified is scheduled to stream from August 3. It is a Netflix-produced series aboutclaims of extraterrestrial encounters having long been dismissed – yet many believing the existence of UFOs is not just likely, but a certainty.

The sport reality series streaming from August 27 on Netflix is Titletown High. The series chronicles the lives, both on and off the field, of members of the Valdosta High School football team.

Car Masters: Rust to Riches: Season 3
As Gotham Garage’s star rises, Mark broadens his business strategy beyond “upgrade and trade” as he courts clients with big ideas and deep pockets.

Cocaine Cowboys: The Kings of Miami
This Netflix documentary is about two childhood friends who go from high school dropouts to the most powerful drug kingpins in Miami. It tells a true story of a crime saga that spanned decades.

6 August

Hit & Run
A Netflix series about a man who, searching for the truth behind his wife’s death, becomes caught up in a dangerous web of secrets and intrigue –  stretching from New York to Tel Aviv.

Navarasa
From amusement to awe, the nine human emotions of Indian aesthetic theory are explored in this anthology series produced by Netflix.

Vivo
A music-loving kinkajou embarks on a thrilling journey from Havana to Miami to fulfill his destiny and deliver a love song for an old friend.

The Swarm
This Netflix movie centres on a single mother who breeds locusts as high-protein food, but has trouble getting them to reproduce  until she finds they have a taste for blood.

9 August

Shaman King
A Netflix anime series in which medium Yoh Asakura enters a battle tournament held every 500 years, competing with other shamans in a bid to become the all-powerful Shaman King.

10 August

Phil Wang: PhillyPhilly Wang Wang
This Netflix comedy specials has funnyman Phil Wang tackling getting older, dating again, unusual foods and other things that have been on his mind. The show was filmed at the London Palladium.

Gabby’s Doll House: Season 2
More paws-itively purr-fect fun awaits as Gabby and her dollhouse friends find new ways to learn, create and celebrate in a whimsical world of joy.
