DURBAN’S Playhouse Theatre will present some well-loved Durban singer-actors in a glittering salute to musicals that will feature song and dance tributes to such global successes as Wicked, Les Miserables, The Lion King and Dear Evan Hansen, among other shows.
The Broadway Revue!, directed by Ralph Lawson, has been described as a cabaret-styled show, an offbeat mix of some of the Great White Way’s top showstoppers.
Sadly, it is scheduled for only one performance – at 7pm on March 31 at the Playhouse Drama theatre.
It will feature, among others, Lisa Bobbert, Aaron McIlroy, Lyle Buxton, Marion Loudon, Thabile Mtshali, Rory Booth, Haylea Heyns and Tshepo Ngcocoane.
“The show is a humorous. ‘behind-the-scenes’ peak at the lives of the characters, and actors who perform them, in some of the best-known and well-loved productions that have made Broadway history, including Dear Evan Hansen, Chicago, Wicked, The Lion King, Les Misérables and Phantom of the Opera, to name a few,” says a Playhouse Company spokesman.
