AN 11-MEMBER cast has been assembled for Cirque Rock, a rock extravaganza sequel to the hit Big Top Rock, which runs at Durban’s Barnyard Theatre at Suncoast Casino from March 12 to April 19.

The good news is that this site has eight tickets to give away to one lucky follower of  SoSuterBill.com. The tickets are for any performance during the production’s run in Durban, subject to availability.

Cirque Rock has been described as a visual and aural experience combining dramatic dance routines, aerial artistry and loads of hit songs.

The cast includes dancers Nick Vries, Woodah Magubane and Simone Youlton, while aerialists in the show are Sam Kotze and Chivonne Naude. The vocalists are Themba January and Zoe Townsend, while the band comprises singer-guitarist Jason Guile, keyboardist Jaydine Barron, bassist Tumelo Tipenyani and drummer Kristo Zondagh.

Cirque Rock features a variety of hits, including songs associated with Boston, Van Halen, John Miles, Queen, Kings of Leon, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, Pink, The Black Eyed Peas and the James Bond movies.

The audience can look forward to funky street scenes with
dancers on skateboards, ladders and crates – spraying graffiti and getting crazy. There will also be displays of acrobatics and routines with silks and on poles.

Performances of Cirque Rock have been scheduled for 7.30pm on Tuesdays (tickets: R180 for two). 7.30pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays (tickets: R180). 8pm on Fridays and Saturdays (tickets: R180) and 2pm in Sundays (tickets: R140, but half-price for pensioners and under-12s).
