JOJO RABBIT

Nominated for six Oscars, this decidedly offbeat World War 2 satire, ultimately moving, is about a young boy in Hitler’s army who finds out his mother is hiding a Jewish girl in their home.

BIRDS OF PREY

Stars: Margot Robbie, Rosie Perez, Mary Elizabeth Winstead

A superhero adventure in which, after splitting with the Joker, Harley Quinn joins superheroes Black Canary, Huntress and Renee Montoya to save a young girl from an evil crime lord.

BLUE STORY
Director: Andrew Onwubolo (Rapman)
Stars: Stephen Odubola, Michael Ward, Khali Best

A crime-drama adapted from Rapman’s YouTube series about two young friends who become rivals in a street war.

BHAI’S CAFE
Director: Maynard Kraak
Stars: Jessica Sutton, Stephanie Schildnecht, Adrienne Pearce

A South African comedy centred on Bhai’s corner shop, a mainstay of the community. However, gentrification means small businesses are under threat from corporate property developers. Bhai is not going to roll over that easily. He’ll fight until the last koeksuster is thrown.

MALANG

Advait visits Goa, where he meets Sara, a free-spirited girl who lives life unshackled. Opposites attract and all goes well until life turns upside down. Years later, Advait is on a killing spree with cops Aghase and Michael in his way.

BOLSHOI’S ROMEO AND JULIET

The HD film of the Bolshoi performance. Performances at Cinema Nouveau (Ster-Kinekor at Gateway in Umhlanga) are at 6pm Saturday, 2.30pm Sunday, noon on Wednesday and 2.30pm on Thursday.
