WICKED, stylish, glamorous and sparkling are words used to describe Private Lives, the classic Noël Coward romantic comedy that is being presented by KwaZulu-Natal’s award-winning KickstArt theatre company, at Durban’s Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre, from October 24 to November 3.

Good news is that this site has three sets of double tickets to give away to the performance at 7.30pm on Friday, October 25. See the end of this story for competition entry details.

The play stars multi-award-winning actors Clare Mortimer and Steven Stead, with the excellent support of Jessica Sole, Iain Robinson and Belinda Henwood. The comedy is co-directed by Steven Stead and Mervyn McMurtry,

Private Lives revolves around Amanda and Elyot, who were once married. Now they are divorced and starting life again with newer, younger, nicer spouses. They both decide to go to France for their honeymoons. To a lovely hotel in Nice. Unfortunately, they choose the same lovely hotel in Nice… in adjacent suites with a-joining balconies.

The moon is full, the air is balmy and the sweet night air is full of music. What could possibly go wrong?

This fun comedy of very bad manners will delight adult audiences with its witty repartee, hilarious situations and outrageous characters.

Celebrated Durban fashionista Terrence Bray has designed the 1930s-style costumes for the play, for which Greg King creates the lavish hotels and Parisian apartments in which the action takes place.

Only 12 performances are scheduled, so it is advised to book early to avoid disappointment.

Performances are at 7.30pm Tuesday to Saturday, with matinees at 2.30pm on Saturdays and 4pm on Sundays. Booking is at Computicket.
