A COLOURFUL new show teaming showbiz all-rounder Ian von Memerty and his dancer wife Vivienne, a former SA National Latin and Ballroom Champion, is in Durban next week – and three people will win double tickets to attend opening night at 7.30pm on Wednesday, April 3.
Note that the tickets are for that night only, so please be aware of that when entering the competition. Entry details appear at the end of this story.
Titled Putting on the Glitz, the production runs only from April 3 to 7 at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre. The song and dance spectacle features songs such as Waka Waka, Pata Pata, Homeless, Putting On The Ritz, Sway, The Samba, Mr Bojangles and Memory.
The show arose from the couple having developed and extended their repertoire as guest artists on luxury liners.
From their African Elegance show they take the audience on a musical tour of South Africa – from Waka Waka to Pata Pata, Homeless, Gimme Hope Joanna, Loslappiw and Lakushone Langa.
Then, from the duo’s A Touch of Class show, they present items such as Putting On The Ritz, Sway, The Samba, Never Had A Friend Like Me, Mr Bojangles and Memory.
Performances are at 7.30pm daily (except Sunday) in addition to matinees at 3pm on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets range in price from R145 to R160 and booking is a Computicket (or tickets may be bought at the theatre on the day).
