IF YOU enjoy the comic romps of Durban stars Aaron McIlroy and Lisa Bobbert, you are sure to be happy to hear the real-life couple will perform their latest zany show, Marriage For Dummies, at UKZN’s Hexagon Theatre in Scottsville this weekend.

A colourful mesh of comedy, song and dance, the production is billed as “a hilarious survival guide for anyone brave enough to take on life’s ultimate challenge”.

Performances are scheduled for 7.30pm on Friday and Saturday, June 8 and 9. Tickets cost R120. Booking is at

Structured around the format of a marriage seminar, Aaron and Lisa showcase the many trials and tribulations of marriage, assuming many different disguises and playing a variety of characters.

“We believe that ‘comedy’ provides a unique frame work, acknowledging the complexities of marriage without getting into the blame game, thus, allowing our audience to internalise the lessons without feeling condemned” says Aaron.
