THE Durban Comedy Festival, now in its third year and scheduled to feature 17 comedians over four nights in December at Umhlanga’s Gateway Hotel and Butler’s restaurant in Hillcrest, is offering two tickets to one lucky follower of this showbiz and leisure site.

The two complimentary tickets are to attend one of the event’s highlights, Whose Line?, which proved a popular draw at September’s Hilton Arts Festival, and will be staged at the Gateway Hotel on December 23.

On Fire Comedy is presenting the Durban Comedy Festival in partnership with East Coast Radio, Gateway Shopping Centre, Comedy Central, AHA Hotel Group and Mozambik Restaurant.

Four different shows have been arranged, the first being Crazy Funny, at 7.30pm on Wednesday, December 20.

This two-hour show, restricted to over-16s, will feature Durban comics – Robby Collins, Annalakshmi, Neville Pillay, Masood Boomgaard, Kelvin Stoffels, Kwanda Radebe, Mo Vawda, Kamz Govender and Darryl Williams.

Tickets cost R150 each and can be booked at Computicket outlets.

The festival’s second show, the 90-minute Xmas Crackers, will be held at Butler’s restaurant, 24 Old Main Road, Hillcrest, at 8.30pm on Thursday, December 21.

Restricted to 18s and over, it will be hosted by the irrepressible John Vlismas, and the lineup will include top South African comedian Nik Rabinowitz as well as Durban funnyman Jem Atkins, Andrew Hughes and Mfundo Ndovela.

Headliners, the third show of the comedy festival, will be presented at the Gateway Hotel at 7.30pm on Friday, December 22. It is a two-hour show featuring Nik Rabinowitz, Joey Rasdien, Loyiso Madinga, Neil Green and Richelieu Beaunoir. Tickets cost R165 each at Computicket.
