Four nights of laughter…

Some of the comedians that will rock Durban venues in November.


COMEDY continues to reign supreme in Durban and lovers of laughs are in for a treat with the Savanna Durban Comedy Week in November, a festival of four shows at various venues.

On Fire Comedy, in association with Savanna Cider and East Coast Radio, will host the event which features some of South Africa’s hottest comedians sharing the stage with Durban’s best acts.

“We have unstoppable UK funnyman, Martin Davis, on tour from Johannesburg. Also on tour we have award-winning comedian-guitarist, Deep-Fried Man, and the hugely popular Alfred Adriaan from Joburg. Popular East Coast Radio comedian Darren Maul also joins the frey,” says a spokesman,

These acts will be supported by Durban talents Kelvin Stoffels, Rory Petzer, Andrew Hughes, Shannon Rice, Kwanda Radebe, Kamz Govender, Mfundo Ndovela, Jem Atkins, Stephen Olivier, Troy Tesla and Darrien Asbury.

All set for lots of laughs in November

The first show will be at 8.30pm on November 1 at Amsterdam, 143 Helen Joseph Road. The line-up will include Martin Davis, Deep-Fried Man, Mfundo Ndovela and Andrew Hughes, with Stephen Olivier as opening act.

Alfred Adriaan, Martin Davis, Kelvin Stoffels, Rory Petzer and Darrien Asbury will entertain at the second show – at 8.30pm on Saturday, November 4, at Umhlali Country Club, 1 Compensation Road, Ballito.

On Friday, November 17, the show will be at 8.30pm at Butler’s Restaurant, 24 Old Main Road, Hillcrest. The acts assembled are Darren Maule, Jem Atkins, Kwanda Radebe and Shannon Rice.

The final concert of the festival will be at 7pm on Saturday, November 18, at Sound Cafe in Warne House, 5 Garlicke Drive, Ballito. Lined up to make mirth that night are Kelvin Stoffels, Troy Tesla, Kamz Govender and Jem Atkins
