THE popular Locnville recording duo, featuring identical twins Andrew and Brian Chaplin, are among guests lined up for The Weekend Edition, a fun magazine series hosted by Phat Joe and Khanyi Mbau, and shown on SABC3 from 6am to 9am on Saturdays and Sundays.
Locnville are scheduled to be in the studio this Saturday (January 7), to share their love of music, life and some fine performances, while popular Muvhango actress, Rami Chuene, gets a surprise from a dedicated fan and chef Sue-Ann Allen prepares a Mediterranean Medley of meals for the weekend.
In the episode scheduled for Sunday (January 8), Phat Joe and Khanyi celebrate women with a number of hard-working and influential women in the studio, according to a spokesman for SABC3.
Also, Farah Fortune is set to talk about building a communications empire with just R1 000 as capital, while I Am Woman’s host, Lisa Chait, shares her passion to celebrate women and their journey. Nomfundo Xaluva then talks about being a woman in the arts.
The January 14 episode of The Weekend Edition is scheduled to feature Afro-pop singer Vusi Nova sharing his musical journey, as well as performing some of his hit tracks.
Digital designer Daniel Ting Chong will reveal what he has learnt from the creative industry, while founder of fashion blog, The Threaded Man, Siya Beyile, will discuss how he made the Forbes Africa’s 30 Under 30 List.

The episode is scheduled to also turn the spotlight on young guitar virtuoso and singer Loki Rothman, who made the top six on the first season of SA’s Got Talent. He has travelled globally as Jack Parow’s guitarist, has worked with Die Antwoord and Toya Delazy, and runs his own music school.
On January 15, the show will feature charismatic, multi-award-winning gospel singer, Rebecca Malope, who shares her story. Malope has been on the gospel music scene for three decades, and with more than 10 million albums sold is one of the country’s most popular recording artists.
SABC3 viewers will also have the opportunity to get to know “the real woman” behind SABC newsreader,Thabile Ngwato, while chef Guy Clark will show how to prepare a balanced meal for the weekend.
Travel blogger Josie Eveleigh will then visit Farm 215 in Hartebeeskloof.
